The U.S. military says former Iraqi vice president Taha Yassin Ramadan
has been captured.
Military officials say allied Iraqi Kurdish fighters captured
Mr. Ramadan Monday in northern Iraq and handed him over to American
forces.
Earlier senior officials of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan
(PUK) told reporters the group's fighters captured Mr. Ramadan
in the city of Mosul and transferred him to Sulaimaniya.
The former Iraqi vice-president is listed as number 20 on the
U.S. list of the 55 most wanted members of the ousted Iraqi regime.
