The PCCIP was created by
President Clinton in July of 1996. The PCCIP's purpose was to advise and assist the President of the United States on questions of critical infrastructure assurance.
Nominating Agencies
The following is the list of government agencies which were authorized by
Executive Order 13010 to nominate
Commissioners to the PCCIP.
The Infrastructure Protection Task Force
The IPTF was established at the same time as the PCCIP. The
IPTF Web site has more information on that organization.

The Network Reliability and Interoperability Council was asked to provide recommendations both for the Federal Communication Commission and for the telecommunications industry that, when implemented, will assure optimal reliability and interoperability of, and accessibility and interconnectivity to, public telecommunications networks. The Council's Report, which you may read online, was presented to the
Federal Communication Commission on July 15, 1997.
